与其他国家一样，越南也有公共假期，所有人都可以享受带薪年假。越南的公共假期由越南劳动、荣军和社会事务部 (MOLISA) 管理。越南人每年有 13 至 17 天的假期。如果公共假期恰逢周末（周六或周日），则前一个周五或后一个周一将被视为带薪假期。

- New Year’s Day – Gregorian calendar (Tết Dương Lịch): Tuesday, January 1, 2024: 1 day off
- Vietnamese New Year (Tết Nguyên Đán): From Thursday, February 8, 2024 (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month in the year of the Rabbit) to Wednesday, February 14, 2024 (the 5th day of the first lunar month in the year of the Dragon): 7 days off
- Hung Kings’ Festival (Giỗ tổ Hùng Vương): Friday, April 19, 2024: 1 day off. However, since it falls on a Friday, Vietnamese workers will get an extra day off on Thursday or the following Monday depending on the company’s arrangement.
- 解放日/统一日（Ngày Thống Nhất Đất nước）： Tuesday, April 30, 2024: 1 day off
- International Labor Day (Ngày Quốc Tế Lao Động): Wednesday, May 1, 2024: 1 day off.
The holiday schedule for April 30 and May 1, 2024 officially lasts for 5 consecutive days from Saturday, April 27, 2024 to Wednesday, May 1, 2024. According to the schedule announced by the state - 国庆日（Lễ Quốc Khánh）： Saturday, August 31, 2024 to Tuesday, September 3, 2024: 3 days off.
1.New Year’s Day – Gregorian calendar (Tết Dương Lịch)
New Year’s Day (Tết Dương Lịch), celebrated on January 1st, follows the Gregorian calendar. Observed by most countries adhering to this system (with a few exceptions like Israel), it’s the most widely recognized public holiday in the world. Vietnam joins the global celebration, making New Year’s Day one of its major national holidays.
2.Vietnamese New Year is known as Tet holiday (Tết Nguyên Đán):
Vietnamese New Year (Tết Nguyên Đán), one of Vietnam’s most significant holidays, falls on Thursday, February 8th, 2024 according to the Lunar calendar. Marking the arrival of spring, it grants Vietnamese people a seven-day break from work, lasting until Wednesday, February 14th, 2024. This extended celebration allows families, a cornerstone of Vietnamese society, to reunite and celebrate together. During this time, expect a quieter atmosphere in cities as many return to their hometowns. Many businesses will also be closed throughout Tet.
3.Hung Kings’ temple Festival (Giỗ tổ Hùng Vương):
The Hung Kings’ Temple Festival (Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương) takes place annually to honor the Hung Kings, the legendary founders of Vietnam. This year, it falls on Friday, April 19th, 2024. Held in Phu Tho Province, approximately 85km northwest of Hanoi, the festival’s main ceremony occurs on this date. While festivities may span several days, April 19th serves as the official public holiday, allowing Vietnamese people to commemorate these historical figures.
4.Liberation Day/ Reunification Day (Ngày Thống Nhất Đất nước):
Liberation Day/Reunification Day (Ngày Giải phóng miền Nam, thống nhất đất nước) commemorates the reunification of Vietnam in 1975, marking the unification of the North and South into a single nation. This significant event is celebrated nationwide on Monday, April 30th, 2024. It’s a day to honor the sacrifices of those who fought for Vietnam’s independence and freedom.
5. Labor Day (Ngày Quốc Tế Lao Động):
International Labor Day, also known as May 1, is a celebration of the international labor movement and workers on May 1 every year, in many countries around the world. In Vietnam, according to state law, the date will be Wednesday, May 1, 2024
6. National Day (Lễ Quốc Khánh):
National Day (Ngày Quốc Khánh) falls on Saturday, August 31st 到 Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 this year. It commemorates President Ho Chi Minh’s reading of the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi on September 2nd, 1945. This three-day celebration is a time for Vietnamese people to honor their national pride. Expect to see patriotic displays with the Vietnamese flag flying high and large portraits of Ho Chi Minh adorning city walls. Throughout the country, parades, speeches, and various festivities mark this important historical event.
